Yes, I think Letters From Iwo Jima is the best war movie of the 21st century.

Clint Eastwood is famous, he can do whatever he wants.
Including making that amazing movie.

So when Ang Lee, a Taiwanese director, makes a film about a white boy from Texas who fought in Iraq that's wrong correct? I mean, god forbid someone make a piece of art not involving their own race, religion, or nationality, right?

There is absolutely no difference between a Japanese woman, a black man, or a white woman directing this movie. None of the above are Chinese women, yet according to you a Japanese woman would be "good enough". You never answered my question about Eastwood. Was him filming a movie about Japanese soldiers in Japanese

Yes, because all Asian women understand the motivations of a cross dressing female peasant soldier in feudal China. If you lament the lack of talented female Asian directors in general then I understand and agree, but to insist that the director of this movie be an Asian woman because the main character is an Asian

So, anyone else think that the "Be a man" song in Mulan is the best Disney song of all time?

So if Stanley Kubrick himself came back from the dead and announced his intention to direct a kick-ass live action Mulan you would still say "nope, not an Asian chick"?

That would be pretty fucking stupid.

Why does the director have to be Asian? The actors and actresses for the parts in the movie I understand, but who cares who the director is as long as he/she is competent? Was Clint Eastwood guilty of whitewashing when he made Letters From Iwo Jima?

Sounds like quite the Cotton Hill.

Jimmy Pesto is bad because he's a fuckin' dick.

I have no idea why the book is called that.

Nah, haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

The Foundation Trilogy by Asimov is pretty great. If you don't know it, it is about a mathematician in a future galactic empire predicting the fall of that empire and taking measures to prevent people from regressing into a galactic dark age. The books are only like 250 pages too, so you can breeze through them pretty

Oh I did too. It tells an interesting story, but I just think that it would mess up the narrative structure of the TV show if they try to incorporate it.

I hope they just skip over book 4, because that was 500 pages of wheel spinning.

That joke got old about 3 weeks into language school.

Wes Chatham is hitting it out of the park.

Anyone watch the Thanksgiving Detroit Lions game where she sang the national anthem? The halftime show had her up there on the time of possession chart. Funny shit man.

Cognitive dissonance.
