Oh, and almost forgot. To the reviewers, I ended up listening to the Storytelling in Wrestling podcast and found it thoroughly entertaining with some interesting viewpoints. Looking forward to the next episode.

I couldn't stop laughing after Alicia stopped, almost apologized and then continued. It utterly destroyed what they were going for in the segment, yet somehow managed to still be great.
But the swerve didn't even work for me from a heel point of view. It didn't make me want to boo her, as she didn't actually swerve Bayley there. Instead she fooled Dana? Nothing in that segment made sense.
I also want to point out a fundamental difference between Seth and Roman.
I'm still struggling with that retirement swerve from Sasha as the more I think on it, the more I utterly hated it. There were a lot of comparisons to the Henry moment, but to me they don't really hold up for a couple of reasons. First, the Henry moment was a pure awesome heel moment where he manipulated the audience…
There were more positives than negatives for me, but there were three really bad segments in that last half which really dragged the energy down.
It isn't just that for me. She does all of that, yet manages to be entertaining while doing it. At times it is just astonishing to witness.
I absolutely love the dynamic between Steph and Mick as there is finally someone urging and wanting Steph to be a better person. It adds so much to the storyline where we don't know where her loyalties truly lie.
I can't fathom why Sasha went for that again. It was just one more bizarre moment in that segment.
I saw the exact when Bayley started to protect the leg, it was after the botched corner kick, but then became confused where she was supposed to hurt her leg. I just assumed that they had a spot ready there which Bayley just failed, but they kept going with the angle anyway.
I constantly am struggling with myself as I currently consider her one of the top two or three heels in the company, but don't know if that is more my bias speaking.
I hadn't thought that it might have been a legitimate injury. That actually makes a lot more sense as I couldn't understand where she even hurt it and why she was selling it. It would also explain why Charlotte didn't put that much pressure on it during the submission moves.
On a more positive side, I thought Charlotte was on fire tonight. In the ring, as mentioned, she looked great, just projecting evil so magnificently and almost becoming a Disney villain in the best possible way. And outside the ring, she gave us the following gems which were so insanely well delivered.
I'm still trying to understand what they did with the Bayley/Charlotte match. I mean, I don't have any complaints about Bayley going over, as even though I would have liked to have seen Charlotte win her first match after SummerSlam, they needed to do that in order to justify Bayley facing Charlotte at CoC. And even…
Another moment I relished was that after Jericho told them to respect the longest reigining Universal Champion in history, KO confirmed it had been seven days.
I continue to be amazed how good Jericho has looked in the ring over the past month. Like a couple of a months ago, he looked a lot slower and clumsier, but now this was the fourth Monday on a row when he put on a great match. The dude should not move that well for someone that age.
Watching Rollins tonight just made it that much clearer to me what a great in-ring storyteller he is as he was able to adjust his character completely to suit the current story of him having a genuine fire and a grudge. There was no moment in the match he was trying to bait the crowd to cheer for him, instead him and…
Charlotte had a couple of really great moments in commentary. In addition to that final line and the following great staredown with Bayley, there was also:
Yeah, it was awkward to say the least. I mean, Carmella brutally assaulted her twice last week and Nikki was essentially shrugging it off there.
Not only that glare, but also the Rollins/Steph interaction afterwards, which is on their YouTube channel, where you could see both of them were utterly confused by the situation.
