I had this experience with TVOTR…
although I did listen to their early work…nothing particularly grabbed me until Dear Science…
Band Name: Yufka
Album title: …other myths inspired by successors
Cover art: http://www.flickr.com/photo…
god help me…I watched all of it…
Also, I'm pretty sure that Year of the Dragon takes place in New York City's Chinatown…not San Francisco…
You're kidding right? I have this DVD at home.
My problems with this one have nothing to do with Kubrick…
First, I can't stand the leads…Kidman is a walking, talking mannequin…and Cruise, well, he's got just two gears…cocky, and intense…
holy crap…Last Poets!
I have to be honest, I'm pleasantly surprised to see that someone @ the AVClub knows their Hip Hop roots…
Can we use some other term to describe Carla's chances of winning other than "dark horse"?
no, wait…
I've been looking forward to this one…
glad to see Gray do something other than Gritty New York Crime movies.
Fabio makes television less dull…
you missed the best part of his broken pinky rant, "…and I'll worry tomorrow about nine fingers!"
My dying meal would be a 1/2lb medium rare cheeseburger topped with sharp Provolone, a basket of hand cut, skin on, french fries, a six pack of Gennie Cream Ale, and a bottle of Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey…to share with the guards (because I want to die surrounded by people with warmth in their hearts).
Now that I think about it, there's only really one type of Tarantino movie…Genre Homage/Ripoff/Parody…and yeah, Jackie Brown is probably his most sincere, least hipster ironic (Name That Reference!, Play at home, Play online!)…it helps that he's working from someone else's source material.
I'll see it…
only because this looks slightly out of his wheelhouse. It's not much of a reach, but at least it's not gangsters and guns.
hey now…leave my dragon friend alone…he didn't say anything when you had your head in a bag last weekend…
Damn it, you all just made me spill my drink…
Friday Night…
is high on my list of recommended date rentals…then again, I like Claire Denis movies, so I can't be trusted.
Piling on…
seconds…
Talking Heads
Eurythmics
Soul Coughing
i'm enjoying this thread way too much…
