Great review as always but I've got a bone (for tuna?) touch with what you said about Nucky's greatest weakness being his relationships. I mean by regular person standards he's an asshole but for the worlds he operates in his reasonable and accommodating nature has proved to be his greatest asset. What as him apart

I'd say Season 10 is the clear dividing line between the two eras. It no longer has the endless rewatchibility that the golden age has but still has the consistency that the show would never regain. I'd say that the good episodes from each subsequent season have been on par with 10 , it just can't do it on a weekly

I wasn't sure if I was reading the Anne Frank plot right because surely American Horror Story wouldnt try and express the domestic oppression of women in the 60s through a subtle metaphor. I mean it wasn't subtle by regular standards but any point that isn't reached by a rambling backstory monologue about why

My god, Isaac M. Baranoff must be matching Atlas Shrugged in word count on this thread.

I'm pretty sure you can measure someone's Simpsons fandom by how many B
-Sharps songs they can sing.

I walked out of this at a film fest, which was a first. It was just downright unpleasant to watch and the points it was making didn't come close to justifying this 90 minute root canal of a film.

I thought this was a massive step up from the last two years and I got quite a few laughs. About a third of last season was really good so I'm glad I still tune in.

Put me down as defending the last three seasons. For one thing I think that Sorkin's last two years are a clear step down from Season 1 and 2. There's the forced terrorism of 3 and 4 seems to aimlessly spin around after they wrap up the election, eventually going for a bunch of cheap shocks. I agree that Wells' ending

I think Boardwalk Empire's lack of solid As on this site has been a bit unfair but it's now clear why we needed something to distinguish a true masterpiece like this.

I probably used the wrong words there. I don't think he was being deliberately dickish or antagonistic but he does strike me as the kind of guy who'd leave a whole lot of unresolved drama in his wake just for shits and giggles. Most show runners have to think before they do something really crazy because they have to
