Except Lennon and Garant would never put up with this "uncredited" shit. That's cash money you're losing out on. If you're gonna be a prostitute, you might as well be a high-paid one. (I'm not being a jerk, like half of their screenwriting book is about this stuff).

Reading The War For Late Night, Kimmel actually comes off really well. And by "well" I mean, "sits on the sidelines and makes the best jokes about how screwed up the situation has gotten". I found my respect for him increasing quite a bit.

I remember when Oliver performed at the Lakeshore Theatre (R.I.P.) a few years ago, and he was just as game to talk to the audience back then. Sometimes it was annoying, but mostly it was fun - especially when he started to contrast some of the idiots to the bright, science-minded 11-year-old who was sitting in the

The whole Skin-Changer story felt perfunctory to me - it's really just there to set up the story-within-a-story structure and to occasionally reflect on The Wind in the Keyhole, which is clearly where King's interest is (rightly, it's wonderful). Jamie, especially, felt like a generic placeholder to do stuff while

Defenders of the book keep talking about how it fleshes out Roland's character. How?

He owes me $25 worth of story that doesn't read like it was being written at gunpoint by someone incredibly burnt out on the whole fucking thing, I think.

You might not be. I know I was, though. Talk about books that fall apart at the end…

I think I might be the only person in the world who likes the King self-insertion in this series. The idea of a group of characters banding together to save their author is really cool to me.

I, personally, dislike it because it's boring. And the characters are boring. And the things that happen in it are boring. And it bored me. Even Roland is boring, because his entire personality as a kid is Whiny-Stoic Teenager With A Boner.

The non-flashback parts of Wizard and Glass are great - especially the beginning. But God, does that flashback drag it down.

Oh, that Mike. He just has no fucking time for or interest in the dumbass soap operas every other character seems to be writing in their heads.

Also: Intentionally irritating voice! How did the character not catch on.

There were people complaining basically for the show's entire run that the characters weren't likeable enough. Or, really, critics saying "I don't mind this, but the mainstream public won't like it." And some Fox execs, I think.

Yeah, even with the sword stuff, Sokka only really ever gets up to "competent" in terms of fighting, which is what makes it great that he remains so integral to the team's success throughout the entire course of the series via his planning skills and adaptability.
