Me in Honey should've gotten a music video instead - Kate Pierson's part in that one fucking rules.

as long as we're counting The Bends as their real first album, I'd nominate Radiohead
I have a lot of fondness for their hits up 'til about Mylo Xyloto, partially because of the memories I associate with them. "The Scientist" is really pretty, and I'm a sucker for "Clocks."
I like the "middle aged uncle" vibe of Accelerate - Stipe sounds old on basically every track, and the fact that he's still yelling and singing at the top of his lungs gives it a sort of ragged edge that I like a lot.
Reality is fantastic, Disco King especially.
After much introspection, I have decided to forgive you
Absolutely. "The Lifting," "Imitation of Life," and "Disappear" are all fantastic.
Nooooooooo I love that one
That's a great take too.
Dashboard is nothing like their earlier stuff, and it's very much a mainstream pop-rock song, but it's one of the best mainstream pop-rock songs I've ever heard.
Hell yes, can't believe I forgot that one.
TO HOLD
I like that one.
Let's Dance had a few really good songs and a lot of filler, and the next few albums were pretty dire, though I felt he came back with Outside.
Hope you like it! I get why you'd have that immediate reaction, though I always saw it as a very disturbing glam-rock fever dream that uses the 'rock star' trappings to do something much more unsettling.
This is the definitive version of Beverly Hills: https://www.youtube.com/wat…
"Walk it Back," though!
I think people were really shocked by how ugly and dark it is in comparison to the gentleness of their last two albums. I think history has vindicated it, even if audiences didn't understand it at the time.
You need The Rising if just for the title track and Magic for every damn song.
That's a perfect funeral song. I would upvote you, but Disqus isn't letting me, so consider this an upvote.
