Or if she snuck up behind you, and said, "Hey, you smell like the inside of a cock".

Like some others, I really enjoyed this. I spent a chunk of it comparing it unfavorably to Primer, but about halfway through I was pretty fully invested in what was going on. I'm a sucker for that Close Encounters-style piecing together of weird events. Why can't all sci-fi be this smart (though not necessarily this…
Life is very short and there is no time for fussing and fighting my friends.
Like a couple of other folks, I didn't comment on these reviews very often, but read them every week and thought they were just wonderful. It's fantastic to read someone engaging thoughtfully with a writer like Sorkin whose craftmanship really deserves & repays attention.
I don't completely disagree with this, but the desk-destroying scene worked a bit better for me because of Birgitte's frustration building from her not being able to get the phone cord uncaught. That little detail (it's always the details!) struck the right sort of realistic note for me.
I agree about Sanne! The actress who plays her does a really great job with a really well written character. Sure, there are a lot of characters who are stuck in (possibly deserved) mid-level frustrating jobs. But they often tend to be written as someone who's 'redeemed' by secret brilliance (like Janel Moloney's…
Liked for quoting classic Van Morrison.
"a more comprehensive essay on the whole Sorkin experience coming on."
In fact, forget about the bar.
Not ignoring the substance of what you said, which I agree with, but this part, taken literally, is a great sci-fi show waiting to be made:
'Love Pentagon' would also be a good name for a bad Red Hot Chili Peppers song.
Speaking of the supporting cast, someone who's grown on me quite a lot in the last couple of episodes is the semi-competent personal secretary (Sanne?). She's hilarious!
I like the permanent secretary too. He strikes me more as an ultra-polite Malcolm Tucker though, in Thick-of-It character terms, than as Terry (though obviously, in terms of position, Kasper is closer to Malcolm and the guy in question to Terry, as you say).
Carmenita Scarfone?
It's not ironic at all! Genuinely, I think it sounds lovely. Maybe hearing Knudsen speak it helps make the cacophony sound more euphonious…
In other news, I'm growing very fond of listening to the Danish being spoken and not just reading the subtitles. It's a lovely-sounding language. I hope I pick up more than just "tak!" from watching it.
I feel like I would hate similar montage scenes on other shows. But, as I think someone else mentioned, Birgitte's sincerity really sells it. I think the conversation with her husband about it was a great payoff too.
The "all this can be yours" line was a nice touch in that scene, too.
+1 (for each idea)!
I'm sure this is preaching to the choir, but I wanted to say how much I admire not only the Breeders' songwriting but also their uncanny knack for doing covers.
