I'm curious, Grasshopper, do you by chance, listen to We Hate Movies?

I knew the rumors, but I didn't see the Talia thing coming at all.  I really should have, especially after they introduced Ra's's(?) child.

That was the only thing I could think of during that ending sequence.  That had to be intentional, didn't it?

Seconded! Wagner's Batman books are great, and the art is fantastic.

Paul Dini's recent Detective run had the best Riddler stories that I can think of, in which he goes legit and becomes a private detective/consultant.  It does a nice job portraying Riddler's intellect and ego.

Yep.  The panel where Gordon comes home to Barbara after realizing he's falling for Sarah is my single favorite panel in all of comics.  Mazz conveys so much in that one drawing: the sweltering heat, Gordon's resigned despondancy, Barbara's discomfort and swollen stomach.  Absolutely perfect.

About 10 years ago, I tried to break into comics as a writer, and one of my favorite moments from that period was when Waid sent me and my artist partner a very encouraging e-mail regarding our self-published comic.  There wasn't much to it, but it was clear that he had actually read the thing and had a few nice

Hey, now, The Kingdom's frame narrative was abysmal, but the Flash and Offspring issues were great.  In fact, the whole thing was an interesting take on DC's legacy, if some of the execution was poor.

I recently had the "Hey! Gus is Buggin' Out!" moment.

The only time I found that really effective was the 78 version of Body Snatchers, which just has Robert Duvall, dressed as a Jesuit and swinging at a playground, staring at a character for what feels like 5 minutes.  It was very unnerving and contributed to the sense that something is a little off.
