Not sure what you mean by that being "too bad." I otherwise agree that there's some great comedy in the book and the movie. One of the things that makes the book great is that Goldman wrote it himself rather than it being a novelization.

None of these things were flaws. The characters were intentionally a bit flat (including Westley). The love is supposed to be inexplicable…because that's how fairy tale romances go. The logic is broken in so many ways…and part of the point is that the movie is aware of this, and profoundly indifferent to it.

No, "sounds true" isn't enough for me. I have enough reasons to abhor this president, I don't need lurid rumors to season the pot. I'm concerned that in the deluge of piss jokes, people will ignore the whole high treason aspect of this. If Trump is a stooge for the Kremlin, he should actually be executed.

Too small.

Well, with all the intelligence leaks, the jokes tend to flow naturally.

OK, I definitely agree with that. The bizarre hatred for Hillary started back in '93. I recall it quite clearly. Conservatives already disliked her image, but when Bill appointed her to draft the health care bill, the outrage exploded. "Who voted for her?" they all asked, as though one usually votes for the people

Soft sensuality indeed!

I'm as shocked as you, but I think that explanation is a bit of a cop out. There are a thousand reasons for this state of affairs - the election was close enough that any of a number of small shifts would have changed the outcome.

"tl;dr"

Who watches these movies? When I watched the first one in the theater, I emerged into the parking lot, greatly embarrassed by my choice of evening's entertainment. Never again.

The internet has taught me something that I may never have otherwise learned. I used to enjoy casual intellectual debate. Now that I realize how nearly impossible it is to persuade people to change their minds about anything, I realize that I was just wasting time aggravating people. These days, I just call people

I've got to respectfully disagree with this review. It's true that El and Mike have been consistently great across their respective careers. However, as an RTJ album, I think this is the best of them, an actual step-up from 2, which was a half-step better than 1.

SURE, WHADDAYA GOT?

I feel the same way; I enjoyed it at the time, but this review has a lot of good points. I'm still confused about what the nature of that blood oath was, if Baal was able to cheat, and what Ruby meant by "altering the deal." I'd like to think they had something interesting in mind for the latter. Unfortunately, it

In fairness, it is the ultimate in evil and white.

I enjoyed it very much as it's own thing. I'm just saying that the parallels might not actually represent a slavish recreation of the original. If you refuse to look beyond the current movie, then why compare it to its predecessors, anyway?

Well, to accomplish a fake-out, you need to establish expectations. I have this funny feeling that Kylo is not going to follow the Darth Vader arc. There were some allusions to the fact that what made him special is that he's balanced in terms of light/dark potential. I'm wondering if these movies might actually

The real question is: who gives a fuck?

I totally disagree with all this bashing of The Force Awakens. I felt that it was an excellent movie with terrific characters, and the big thing that people criticize (parallels to the original Star Wars) is a trick to fake out the audience in advance of the next film. But even if that theory is wrong (for which

I told my manager the same thing but he was very insistent with his little questions.
