I wouldn't characterize it as a kind of sadism on the part of the writers. It felt to more like they were trying to be darkly humorous. To me it felt pretty arbitrary, like the show has contempt for its own characters (like a watered-down Clockwork Orange, where everyone is just lousy).

I believe you, and I get the impression from some of these reviews that this aspect of the comic has a very nineties "edgy" feel to it. I can't say how well the comic pulls it off, but it has me a bit concerned from the show.

That's what I was thinking.

Hey, I've been dissing the AVC a lot lately for the proliferation of GJI, the decline of TV reviews, and all that. But this is a terrific article, a return to form. Thanks, Sean! Credit where credit is due.

Kill Bill was pretty mediocre.

There's a lot I like about this show, but it has a big weakness, and this finale really amplified it: a contempt for human life. Miles was a shit, but I don't think he truly deserved to die, especially not like that. The show frequently makes death into a joke, but to pull that off, I feel like you have to actually

No, no, it's actually supposed to be "dragon's superheroes"; he just forgot the possessive.

Well, someone is paying for this stuff, and whoever that is probably has a budget of some kind.

The furniture guy? Why's he in it?

You're right. I have no problems with Hillary, but she is a charisma hole. She delivers lines like she's driving. in. a. nail.

So, the AVC is now posting summaries of meme listicles? Finally! I was having such a hard time finding this kind of content.

He lost the coin toss.

So it's just the framing of the story of the video that's moronic? Because based on this article, I sure as hell wasn't going to waste time actually watching the damn thing.

I feel like you're implying that my comment is super obvious and not worth making. But all I'm thinking is that if I did make such a video, you can expect to see it featured in the next GJI.

They're just trolling us, now.

I'm starting to think that "Great Job, Internet!" is supposed to be said very sarcastically.

Gem fusion often seems like a metaphor for sex, and in certain ways it serves as a metaphor for reproduction, as well, since the fusion seems to be a persona at least partially distinct from its constituents. Your point that a fusion is a unique gem furthers that comparison, because the evolutionary point of sexual

Well, it's not really my responsibility to inform you about popular sites on the internet. Those are not obscure sites (especially Digg!). If you're confused by their mention, I suggest googling them.

You're dead wrong about shoes. That is the one article of clothing you wear the most. It makes sense to invest in a nice pair.

If you don't interpret this (the original concept, and this post itself) to be saying that men talk too much, and should talk less, then we disagree. And if you don't consider that to be equivalent (if gentler) to suggesting that men should shut up, then I contend that you are splitting hairs.
