Another version of Les Miserables?
Based on the silly musical? It ended with Raymond Bernard's 1932 adaptation. Criterion released it last years as part of the Eclipse series. Fucking brilliant. Novel structure transposed to film.

She's not a very good actress.
But she's not terrible either (except in Lucas' debacles). She's part of the bland majority of modern actors. She's no Juliette Binoche or Isebella Huppert.

I hope Hollywood remakes
Army of Shadows with Tom Cruise.

She already played the role
in Black Swan.

7 Steps to Midnight. Great novel from my favorite author. You should pick up Matthew Bradley's Richard Matheson's Film Omnibus: you may be surprised how many teleplays and film scripts Matheson was involved in (that don't suck).

I fucking hate that they make Action films out of his stories. I still think they can film another version of Do Androids Dream and stay true to the novel: it would be a very different film than Blade Runner (which I like very much).

Hilter also liked Chaplin's
The Great Dictator…I guess Hitler didn't get the joke.

Terry fuckin' Southern….
'nuff said.

Interesting….
since Eternal Sunshine was essentially a mish-mash of PKD insights. I can't wait to see Joe Chip argue with his apartment door. Clans of the Alphane Moon next?

Planet of the Muppets?
can't wait. Failed to mention the Disney sequel to Michael Haneke's Funny Games.

I will only see this
if Oliver Reed rises from the dead like any good Hammer horror flick and joins the cast. His bloated corpse can out-act Wil Smith.

I think Meg's hot.
BTW 14 Songs is a fucking great record. Maybe not Tim great but my favorite Westerberg solo album.

David Lynch destroyed my family…
by filming Robert Blake in corpse-like close-up in Lost Highway. But that's OK, I never liked my family anyway.

More Nagisa Oshima…
Boy, Night & Fog in Japan, Death by Hanging. Please.

This was on my 'must read' list for many years…
…and I finally finished it a few months ago. If you can judge a film by its trailer then this looks godawful. Godard should have directed this as a double bill with Film Socialisme.

I categorically deny having spoken with him. And Time After Time was a pretty good flick. Though I'll admitt that Halloween II sucked. Big time.

Donald Sutherland
was once very cool. Kelly's Heroes? Nic Roeg's Don't Look Now? MASH? Dirty Dozen? Check out his portrayal as Jesus in Trumbo's Johnny Got His Gun: like Bunuel's protogonist in Simon of the Desert. Now he's a sad empty vessel of sagging flesh…
