I didn't catch this episode until a few years after its initial run, and by the time I saw the episode, I could only think to myself that Bill Buchanan from 24 is a swinger when he isn't helping Jack Bauer save the world.

You forgot about "Teen Wolf". Simmons mentions it so often that if you weren't around in the eighties you'd think it was a cultural phenomenon when it was released, and not the minor hit in theaters that ended up being shown on HBO three times a day, which is how I remember the movie.

I feel the same way. My problem with Quadrophenia was that I first listened to it at a time when I wasn't much into The Who anymore. I have the same feeling about The Final Cut and Pink Floyd. I like both bands and I don't hate either record, but I'm never really moved to want to hear them.

Now that you mention it Mike Gorman does sound a little like Morgan Freeman. I never made the connection, mainly because Mike's been the voice of the Celtics television broadcasts for so long I never thought to compare him to anyone else. Good call, though.

I want to see some Olympic handball, if only to hear Mike Gorman calling an Olympic sporting event. Not hearing Tommy Heinsohn complaining about the refs might be a little jarring at first, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Of course the makers of Miami Vice wanted Dennis Hopper to play Hank Weldon. That said, "Out Where the Buses Don't Run", was one of Miami Vice's finest hours, and Bruce McGill was a big reason why. Loved him ever since.

I just think of him as Bill Buchanan, Jack Bauer's old boss at CTU. Even when I saw him play a swinger in "Six Feet Under", I wondered what he was doing outside the CTU compound.

I have an aunt the same age as Maureen Tucker. By all accounts she enjoyed all the freedoms the sixties had to offer - I have a picture of her flower child self - and now she's a card carrying member of the "Keep your hands off my Medicare" crowd. It happens, and it sucks.

I vaguely remember James Rebhorn dancing at the end of the movie, which I thought was pretty funny in light of the characters he usually plays.

One of the running subplots in Harlan Ellison's book "The Other Glass Teat" is the production of the script he wrote for "The Young Lawyers". As the script was being shot he had nothing but praise for Zalman King, and he compared him to the likes of Marlon Brando. When the episode was aired, Ellison naturally hated it

Mankind and the 1995 Quebec Nordiques in the same movie? With Kristen Bell no less? Sign me up.

I'm thinking that one reason the AV Club is revisiting Nash Bridges is because some of the people who produced and/or wrote for the show went on to produce or write for shows that people who frequent this website actually watch. The ones that come immediately to mind are Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Shawn Ryan (The

As rock critics go Robert Christgau's ok, but he's dead wrong about his assessment of Pentangle's Cruel Sister. Probably my favorite Pentangle song. RIP Bert Jansch.
