I lost…
…the game.
I lost…
…the game.
I think that's supposed to be the point though isn't it? In all other so called "torture-porn" flicks, and in the first two thirds of Martyrs, there is still a sensationalist thrill to the violence. In that final third, all of that is completely stripped away.
Considering that I didn't really enjoy any of them but have seen them all (except Ils) does that make me a bit weird?
Yeah, Tyson is fascinating. It's true that it's completely one-sided but, as Toback points out, its completely honest about that. It's basically a recorded talking heads session with Tyson and its entirely up to the viewer to translate his words and make up your own mind about his life. You can argue whether that…
Yeah, Bill is superb. I think that the episode (I can't remember what it is called) when his mum starts dating the PE teacher is the finest of the whole season.
The sort of film that burns unforgettable images into your brain.
Can someone please explain to me…
..how the FUCK Eddie Vedder managed to get to that scaffold in that picture? Was this some Micheal Jackson-like stunt using wires? Is it digitally enhanced? What the fuck is going on there?!!
Agreed, CTS has definitely lived up to expectations from the few times I've heard it so far.
Not the best episode agreed but they couldn't get Jermaine to pose as a Maouri so dressed up a Chinese and a Mexican instead got a bog laugh out of me.
"I feel like a prize asshole,
Noone complemented me on my casserole".
I thought that they'd put in a subtle joke in this episode, although maybe all the vodka I drank during it confused me:
Peep Show is amazing. The depiction of middle-aged, British men is brilliantly accurate. I think that the writers said that most men like to think that are Jeremy but really we're all like Mark deep down and its worryingly true.
Ah man, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace was a piece of misunderstood genius. I know so many people who hated it.
Seriously, you guys can keep Keeping Up Appearances. We don't want it back.
Transporter, Crank, Death Race.
Did I misunderstand the trailer or does he now go one better and fuck a granny in a public place? Either that or the stress of starring in too many shit movies has taken its toll on Amy Smart
I would recommend Gomorrah but with the warning that it is an incredibly cold and alienating film for the viewer. Scott is right to hold it up as the flip side to exploitative gangster flicks but its so dense that it makes The Wire seem like Miami Vice. You have to search really hard for any kind of characterisation…
A remake of the A-Team has already been done.
The thing with Shakespeare is that its all about the performance. Reading it as prose is definitely a slog and only in recent years have I come to really appreciate it by seeing some top productions. A lot of people see Shakespeare as irrelevant but really its timeless because you can re-interpret it and shape it to…
I agree, this film is actually pretty good. Don't go in with high expectations, have a few drinks before hand and its really entertaining.
