Thought the same thing. Great in his own right, but having made music with or for Miles Davis and Michael Jackson (in addition to Zappa) and others, I was sure they'd have something up. Surprised and disappointed.

Cosigned on both points - found Nightmare 2 to be a lot of fun, non-PC homoerotic subtext and all. Clu Galager and the girlfriend who's basically a poor woman's Meryl Streep - lots to like with Freddy's Revenge!

You GOLed? But yeah, that was pretty groan-inducing. Would've been much better (and more realistic) if he'd said "Because he's a douche."

I recall there was also a ripoff book series called Which Way books. There was one called The Black Slime and Other Horrors (or something like that) that was a little too fucking scary for a ten year old. (That, or I was just a big pussy.)

Please do not poke the Ymir.

Have any of you revisited them at all recently? Still fucking scary.

Nice post… +1

She's clearly talented - in 2009's Discretion, she nailed three (!) roles: Vietnam Villager - Vegas Cabbie - Adult Film/Porn Actress

Re: Spartacus, I hope since this is the end, they won't wait 18 months to release the final season on DVD…

Ahem. I liked this and its sequel.

Yay!

Fair enough - here's why I hate "Two Princes" by the Spin Doctors: the opening drums sound identical to the opening drums on Primus' "Tommy the Cat" - a song I used to love. I'd always get excited for about 1.5 seconds, then shrug, and say, "Oh. It's this."

Since the AV Club gave a B+ to the kinda-recent Excision (which really wasn't very good), surprised to not see that here as an entry.

In the director's defense, I really enjoyed Puppet Master 3.

I always liked the show - enough to where I'd love to check out seasons 3-6 since they're not available on dvd. I believe they had access (i.e. the rights) to all that old footage and were just trying to figure out a way to use it?

So… you're saying I should see this?

Missed opportunity: Ice T's "I don't know 'bout you, but I'm ready to kill Nino Brown" line from New Jack City…
