I don't think it's meant to be Ocean Grove, that was already a pretty big Methodist Camp (bigger than a 1 diner town at least) by the turn of the century.  Lots of those Victorian houses.   But of course, Asbury Park was even bigger and only 10 miles away.  So it's probably meant to be north of that.

I got my set in the mail and watched the first 4 episodes over the weekend, and while the plots and the wardrobe may be a bit dated, the humor is definitely still there.  Bob Elliot as an American Gladiator = hilarious.

I was watching this with my sister-in-law, who is Chinese, and she probably laughed louder than anyone in the theater.  Which mostly just chuckled.
