Yeah, but Lucas' films were never as good.  You watch 'em now, & even the GOOD half of the trilogy has pretty obvious weaknesses.  I saw Star Wars when it came out, when I was seven, so it just blew me away.  Now?  I like it, but it's hardly a great film.

I'm hoping that it means he just really fell in love with the concept & that it's a full-on passion project.  I hope, probably naïvely, that he's not in it for the money.  I mean, he made SO much money from LotR, he really CAN just do whatever he wants now, just for the love of it.  Right?

I think we'll get The Hobbit, @avclub-2a50e3b61d7da907adce74114394ccc3:disqus, in the first 2 films.  The 3rd film, I think, will be the 50-60 years between The Hobbit & Fellowship.  At least that's what I've read, but who knows—maybe he'll try to cram more background stuff into the basic narrative (like the tale

I'm pretty sure that by the year 3000 Beck would indeed be in the public domain.

I kinda feel like cartoons should be exempted, since continuity is often not a concern.  I would've left The Simpsons off this list.

Ordinarily, I don't mind the auto-play that much.  This time, I couldn't hit fucking MUTE fast enough.
