Don't forget "Bottle of Smoke" by The Pogues.
Don't forget "Bottle of Smoke" by The Pogues.
Yeah, I love him to death and would listen to him all day, but my wife says calls it "driving your car into the nearest tree" music.
Catching up on some 2017 stuff I hadn't gotten around to yet. Chuck Prophet, Son Volt, Sunny Sweeney, Valerie June.
It looks like the spiritual successor to Corman's Fantastic Four.
One of my first shows was a Rancid gig, might have been their first tour as a four piece, or pretty close to it so these guys will always have a near and dear place in my heart. Like the majority of you guys, I kind of tuned out after the second self titled record, but those first five are unfuckwithable. Also, I'll…
That big Netflix exclusive streaming contract?
Don't forget T-Long! He's probably my favorite "absolute bare minimum of effort" guy ever.
Was worried about the Isbell record a little bit based on the first single. Single #2 has me back in the "Yep, I'm wearing out the grooves on this one" territory.
"backed up solely by Alex Jones’ entire career." It was this wasn't it? It was for me.
To be fair, that Mount Eerie record isn't really easy to listen to more than once (which is not a slam on the quality of said record). You need to be in a certain headspace for that shit to not totally wreck you.
Other new stuff this week I'll be checking out: Sufjan Stevens "Carrie and Lowell Live", Bliss n Eso "Off the Grid", Willie Nelson "God's Problem Child", John Mellencamp "Sad Clowns and Hillbillies", Mark Lanegan Band "Gargoyles", Joseph Huber "The Suffering Stage"
BOC is fantastic. The run from the first album to 1980 or 1981 or so is well worth your time.
What I can't figure out is why they don't just show the local commercials so that the companies advertising on the regional cable stations don't lose any money by the game showing on MLB.tv. If anything, these advertisers would be more excited they're getting more eyeballs, right? I mean it seems way too simple so…
Counterpoint: As a cord cutter who buys the MLB tv package, I'm glad they only show limited games because that's less games I'm blacked out of.
Go back to the roots. Less talking heads, more shit like Australian Rules Football and indie wrestling at all hours of the night.
At first I kind of shrugged my shoulders and said "It's spelled wrong, but I've seen it spelled that way before." but then I got sad when I realized that the only reason I've seen it spelled that way is because I'm a nerd ass loser who reads history books.
Probably not enough Trump mentions in the pieces.
Yeah, I have something similar. It's nice.
Don't worry, they'll all be on Ebay for you to find along with the majority of all the other releases.
haha, you suckers actually watch that shit?
