I highly recommend Side 1 of the soundtrack for "Star Trek: The Motion Picture".

Even if it is the best hot dog, all that mean is that it's the "Best of meat byproducts that can't be sold as anything else and are just pressed together with their vile taste hidden by a bun and condiments". The best piece of garbage is still garbage.

Marvel just needs a hard reboot and to be done with it.

I've got the Isbell EP coming but other than that, nah. I kind of hate the whole thing.

Do you listen to a lot more classical music too? Because, ever since my "glaucoma" has acted up more and more over the last year, I love blasting classical records when nobody is home.

I'm pretty sure it's all marketing at this point. I wonder if "mixtapes" were originally a way for performers to put out songs using unlicensed samples that weren't on a label so nobody had to worry about getting paid or getting sued. Mixtapes in their purest form just seem like demos to me. Something someone does

Hopefully he gets really serious about it and disappears for 20 years while he writes it.

A lot of Afro Celt Sound System this week. It's not a band I particularly like, but it's just weird enough for me to check out and give a couple spins too. World music fans might get more out of this than me.

Cool, thanks. I had held off watching the show as to not spoil the books and then ended up tearing through all of them in a year, so I feel ok about watching the show now.

My oldest kid, for whatever reason, was obsessed with "Dead Homiez" when he was about three years old. I thought my wife was going to have a grabber the first time she walked in the door and saw him watching the video.

Have you read the books? I've read all of them but haven't seen the show, I was wondering how they compared.

Yeah, when I first started reading I thought it was a weird regional thing or something that everyone I'd know would call this a "track listing".

Raffi sucks. My in laws played that shit for my wife when she was a kid but I had to put my foot down when they tried bringing it into my house to play for their grandkids.

I get that it's partly me getting older, but there seems to be more "current" bands on here than bands from the 70s-90s. I wonder if it's a case of trying to appeal to a wider audience or not wanting to book the same bands every year or what. Most likely a little bit of both.

Gonna be like my 1993 all over again.

It was more of an expression of my frustration of the political climate and how "agree to disagree" has become such a cute little ideal when it use to be just what people did by default. I think there's probably a million factors for that sea change in attitude, but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy watching it, even

Honestly, I think he's on to something. Whoever is in power fucks with the other side and then the one being picked on complains about how the other side is being a dick and then vice versa when the rolls reverse. I'm just so sick of politics turning into cheering for your team versus the other team but instead of

I saw that one, it was a fantastic experience. I think I'll take my kid to, who was actually born in 2004 and has never seen Alien, to this.

To be fair, anybody that doesn't think every single professional talking head isn't in character at least part of the time needs to reassess their own tenuous touch with reality.

We call it "beans and frank" around our house.
