It appears she had a major hit ("Where Does My Heart Beat Now") before "Beauty and the Beast", but damned if I recall ever hearing the former…..

But that had an independent existence for close to twenty years before that movie came out!

Hell, note that pretty much all the events of the series (and, for that matter, the books) rely really heavily on no one having been able to make a good decision for decades…..
