And it really doesn't help that it appeals so heavily to a fan base with seemingly no ability to detect a cynical cash-in when it is staring them straight in the face and who are willing to but as many tickets as it takes to prove that.

In my case, the greater issue is that I'm not convinced that the quality of the episodes with the Great Gazoo was that much worse than the show overall- it really was a very generic sitcom.
