Well, and the thing with Dinklage didn't work not only because she was baby-crazy.  She wanted to be a sufficiently open-minded liberal that his height wouldn't bother her, but Liz Lemon harbors a mess of prejudices she's very awkwardly bad about hiding.

My friend and I were lazing about, watching stupid TV late at night, when Jerry Maguire came on.  I invented a drinking game where we had to drink every time someone repeated a line for emphasis.

I feel like you might get a singular "y'all" from, say, a waitress, or someone in a service position who's used to asking the same things of groups of people.  "Y'all want a table or a booth?"—that kind of thing.

Glad you mentioned this—the kids' antics are way over the top.  Given that they don't seem to have any developmental issues, the way that they blithely destroy the office speaks really badly for Diane's parenting skills.

I also enjoyed Chris wheeling about to look up at Google Earth's all-seeing eye when Leslie mentioned it.

Persian really does have a lot of homonyms, though.

Ha ha!  I knew my degree in Persian would pay off!

Replying to say I agree entirely and to add nothing to the discussion!

I watched this because I used to read Due South slash and people who write that sort of thing were talking about it.

I haven't seen Parenthood since I was a kid, but I don't think there were any signs of autism/Asperger spectrum issues.  I think it was mostly that the kid was had a lot of anxiety, including being really, really sensitive to things being unfixed, and still had a lot to do in terms of figuring out how to regulate it.

I remember how my Uzbek professor at the time was quietly thrilled by Colbert's speech.  By way of background on the man, he'd been tortured in a Soviet Uzbek prison as a dissident, and he apparently remained on the Uzbek government's black list after emigrating to the U.S.

I love him in the SNL Christopher Walken census sketch.

@avclub-a14343d7aea171bddd5aa6b80e500fd3:disqus I mean, we should be talking about music, not fucking…ass-spraying mayhem…..

Yeah, getting a verbal "goatse" in is difficult.  It's more one of those visual reference things:

And there's:

Oh, this one's good, too:

and you can't find your waitress
with a Geiger counter
And she hates you and your friends
and you just can't get served
without her

Sooner or later she always gets her man.
