"Willy Wonker" is indeed the stupidest thing I have read today.

I've tried to get friends into podcasts too, and met with varying levels of success.
I have a theory: the people who are most into podcasts are people who can listen to them while they work. For example, I have an art-based job where I have to sit at a desk all day, but I don't have to read/write/think very much. I've

It's interesting, almost everything in this article applies equally well to webcomics.

Didn't George R.R Martin kind of apologize for A Feast for Crows? I vaguely remember a little author's note at the end basically saying "heh…uh…sorry this was so long and had none of your favorite characters in it. They'll be in the next one, promise!".

Why would anyone wear a shirt like that? Sorry to derail, but I'm genuinely curious.
I mean, on the one hand you get to tell everyone you meet that they're ugly, so…fun, I guess? But on the other hand everyone you meet will immediately assiciate you with a flaccid dick. And that's the kind of first impression that

I definitely identified with some of her books more than others. I remember Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great seemed more relatable, except that my friends weren't quite as mean as those girls. I never read Just As Long As We're Together though.

Same here! Nothing was remotely familiar about that world, so I assumed I must be abnormal. But then I figured my friends must be abnormal too, because they weren't like the girls in the book either.
I mean, those girls…they do breast exercises and are competetive about menstruation… does anyone relate to that?

I'm glad you posted this - I listened to the audiobook of the 1st Sally Lockhart book just recently (love HDM and wanted to read more Pullman), and was entertained, but not blown away. I hadn't planned on checking out the later ones, but now I think I will!

Very true, but I feel like it's not written as a YA book. Looking at some of his other "talking animal" books like Shardik and The Plague Dogs, it's obvious Adams didn't think animal stories = YA.

Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret gave me a lot of weird ideas about women and I AM a woman.
