Everything from "Be Cool" is terrible.

But she makes a living doing nothing but writing that column, so she must be really highly paid…and later on, aren't all of the columns collected into a book, which becomes famous?
So it seems like, in the universe of the show, they are supposed to be exceptionally clever and charming, which they are certainly not.

Every song in that movie is perfect.  But, yeah, I thought the same thing, that particular audience would definitely not have been receptive to Phoenix's song, at least not at that moment. Also, when Phoenix is auditioning and sings the "Special to Me" song, she dances worse than I have ever seen a human being dance.

Oh wow, I had no idea that it was written for her. Personally I think she looks awesome doing the androgynous thing, but sounds ridiculous singing "Le Jazz Hot".

I always assumed that her art was supposed to be mediocre, which kind of fits in well with the tone of the show, and is also why she ultimately gives up on it (I think - I haven't seen the later seasons).  But maybe I'm giving the show too much credit.

That video from "Staying Alive" is hilarious and amazing.  My favorite part is at about 1:30, when the stage manager(?) shakes his head, presumably at the mind-blowing awesomeness of what he's seeing, and mutters "Perfect!".

Yeah, I always wondered about that last number in "Fame".  Because it's incredibly creepy, and I can't figure out if it was supposed to be - like to make a statement or something? And what would that statement be?

The songs in "Music and Lyrics" are way more charming than they have any right to be.

Ugh, I forgot about "and just like that". It's starting to dawn on me that the narration is probably the worst part of the show.

Could the gods be so cruel? I guess it's true that those who fail to learn from the Futterwacken are doomed to repeat it.
