A few others worth mentioning: Dirk Bogarde, Oliver Stone (really just a terrible manuscript that he wrote as a teen and decided to publish decades later), Gus Van Sant (PINK is actually a pretty good book), Donald Cammell/Marlon Brando, Terry Gilliam (ANIMATIONS OF MORTALITY is essentially a tongue-in-cheek graphic

Cryer is dead wrong about O.C. & STIGGS. That movie is an extremely strong satire of upper-class snobbery and teen-oriented films of the 1980's.

That's nice to hear. I was Facebook friends with him while he had been laid off from his previous job and had gotten divorced, but I closed my account for good in early 2012.

Kipling's JUST SO STORIES-Kindergarten

I'm continually astonished by the continued ubiquity of words like "fag" and "retard". Hasn't society evolved enough to leave this garbage behind?

Along with the 1995 SPIN ALTERNATIVE RECORD GUIDE, Prindle's site helped turn me into a serious music nerd. Pity that he's been going through some tough times in recent years, as I hope he'll resurrect it one day.

Bakshi sunk quite a bit of his own money into

He admits that he tried coke but strongly disliked it.

I really want to try a session in a sensory deprivation tank. There are a few establishments in L.A., and some of them even offer gift cards!
