I only bring this up because you've slagged Generation X on another comment here: Twitter, arguably the driving communication tool of the Arab Spring, was created by Gen Xers. So was Google. (And, of course the AV Club.)

It's a little tricky for me to rank those four records, but I'd probably set Before and After Science at #4 because Taking Tiger Mountain is pop-art perfection, Another Green World is his first (and very successful) foray into ambient, and Here Come the Warm Jets was the solo debut, so it just gets bonus points by…

"Least loved" when it comes to Brian Eno is still loved, though. And that album does include "By This River" which is as gorgeous as anything else he's made.

Totally. I got to see them again at the Metro in Chicago this past October, and they were still great. Unfortunately, the venue wouldn't allow them to set their theremin on fire while they played it, which was a big highlight for me back in the day. They still used the Tesla coil, though.

Awesome, I was about to suggest Man… Or Astroman? and  Philip K Dick in the Pet Section of a Wal-Mart, but I'm happy to see someone has already beaten me to the punch. Some of their song titles are a damn near paragraph.
