Agreed. To me, the standout score moment so far was Gregory's team grabbing the dead guy's wife out from under the eyes of the FBI. That was a gorgeous little piece.

Well, we don't really know if the son was fake. I think they left it purposefully open.

Boyd Crowder would likely win on eloquence alone.

Did my ears deceive me, or did the guy who Sanford owed money to call him a "clit?" Anyway, another great episode. I'm really surprised at how each installment keeps impressing me moreso than the last (with the exception of the side story with creep who picked up the kids last week). I'm not sure how long a show where

Wow, you just made me want to pop in Season 1 of 24 again. Pretty sure that was the first time Jack threatened to do something really heinous to a person, before that became his "thing."

Ah, I stand corrected. I remember that huge barn with "JESUS SAVES" painted onto the side in the first ep, which was a pretty great piece of Appalachian imagery I'd love to see brought back.

Just so you know, your replies are showing up as separate posts for some reason…

Yeah, I was waiting for Duffy to kill him right there. The guy had more lines than ever, then basically insulted him.

@avclub-c9be0674ead9b2448c14d31c64f2b01b:disqus The reason the early episodes look a bit more accurate is because they were shot in Western Pennsylvania. I don't think they made the switch to Cali until the second season, though I might be wrong there.

@avclub-d324a0cc02881779dcda44a675fdcaaa:disqus They also released them into the Smokies in Tennessee, though I don't think they made it. I remember because I was on a family trip in Cades Cove one time, and shortly after we read a sign about the wolves we saw some baby foxes, which prompted my aunt to yell "Look, red

I'll only accept Art's retirement if he and Raylan can have some unofficial buddy cop episodes in the future.

I know this has been discussed, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that it's been less than a year since the pilot episode. There was a pretty decent gap between Seasons 3-4, no? And if it had been that short a time, wouldn't Raylan's gunshot wound still be kind of a hindrance?

@avclub-792b765aa995daf26cf6f17f519c949d:disqus "Jesus, Raylan, what's your problem?!" "Nothing! You, on the other hand, have a bullet inside you!"

Oh, I didn't know that. Well maybe we won't see him then. Either way, I don't think I mind.

Eh, somehow I'll make it through daily life. I just like to appreciate a good surprise when I can; my comment made it sound like I'm more annoyed than I actually am. Thanks for the recommendation though.

I was just marveling at how Shelby and Ellen May, these two random bit characters who show up in Season 2, now have an entire season built around them. Awesome.

I actually saw that too. But by that point, the ship had already sailed two times.

I was just thinking that there sure is a lot of drama surrounding a guy who hasn't even shown up this season. But I'm okay with not having a present "big bad" this year.

I think his name is Mike. In one of the episode commentaries the cast/crew all rag on him as the "world's worst bodyguard."

Johnny's rant about Boyd was pretty great, though he ought to have known even back then that Boyd's white supremacist schtick wasn't something he ever believed. In the pilot Raylan susses out pretty quickly that it was just a scam ("I know you're not dumb enough to believe that Mud People story") to control his
