My favorite Stannis-burn is one that doesn't occur in the show, during the parley between Stannis and Renly. Renly brags about Margaery being a virgin, to which Stannis retorts "In your bed she's like to die that way."

Sometimes I feel like A.V. Club is reading my mind; I was just watching some interviews on YouTube about this film. What's interesting to me is that McTiernan seemed to want to make a film more faithful to Crichton's novel than Crichton did. Reading that book really got me interested in Norse culture as a kid.

I'm not exactly a prolific commenter and I didn't comment much on Justified post-season 4 (mainly because I dropped cable and usually ended up watching the eps a day or two after they aired), but I'm always at least perusing these comments after watching. I did want one more full-on Wynn Duffy freakout. I know he pretty much became a different character after he was shot in S1, but I really wanted another "SHOW ME THE BENJAMINS" rage.

Yeah, probably the most gruesome image. It's a show with a lot of violence and horrific threats (like cutting out a baby), but not a lot of actual gore. Raylan holding Quarles' arm would probably be the second goriest.

It'd be tough to even match wits with her. She was dropping cutting insults on perverts at the age of like 14.
