Private Parts is by far the funniest book I ever read.

Interesting timing. The Cure was my favorite band in my early 20s, then I stopped paying attention after Disintegration, about half of which I really liked and half I found too dreary and boring. Now I'm 51, and the upside of having been mildly depressed lately is that just a few days ago I got into them again and now

Time to revisit this movie. I loved this scene so much that the rest of the movie seemed anti-climantic.

I can't believe that in all the talk of Amy Adams there is no mention of Junebug, which may be her best performance. I can't say I'll watch her in anything since I'm burned out on superhero movies, but she made Enchanted well worth seeing, even though it's the kind of movie I wouldn't be caught dead watching otherwise.

Thanks for reminding me - in a sociology class in college I was supposed to write a paper involving a (real, I think) case study. I made up some bullshit story about a non-existent girl named Karen using lyrics from "Institutionalized" by Suicidal Tendencies. It's funny to me now but at the time I got a little

I thought Bullet with Butterfly Wings was a stupid sellout song when it first came out, so it took me awhile to get around to checking out the album. There are more than just a few songs I skip, but overall this has more songs I love to this day than any record I can think of. Ruby may be my favorite and I love

Surely I'm not the only one who thinks Heartspark Dollarsign sounds like Husker Du?

I saw a bad horror movie months ago and thought WTF is Javier Bardem doing in this? Finally the mystery is solved. I wonder if I would have made that mistake if I hadn't known JDM's face from Grey's Anatomy and forgotten about it.

Heavenly Creatures is excellent, of course, but I had a lot more fun with Dead Alive. My favorite zombie flick by far, and the most hilariously insane movie I've ever seen. Never saw Meet the Feebles since it's not on Netflix and I didn't like Bad Taste, but I just ordered it through Amazon thanks to the comments

Anyone who agrees with me that Dead Alive is Peter Jackson's best movie. Which may well be no one.

Ah, so it wasn't just me then. I only saw this movie once way back when it came out, but I distinctly remember that song coming on and thinking, "Oh yeah, what a perfect song for this movie!"

It's because of Goodfellas that Monkey Man is my favorite Stones song.

Phish - Dirt.

I like to be extra pretentious after I use that word by pointing out that it's one of only 2 words that use all 5 vowels in order.

Oh, I like the word "panties." Adding "soiled" before neither adds nor subtracts from my enjoyment.

OMG, I laughed my ass off at that and immediately posted it as my FB status - unattributed, of course. I was ashamed of myself for reading an article on a band I haven't been interested in decades and this far into the comment thread until I read that, so thanks!
