I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Democracy just doesn't work.

Oh gosh yea, I was aware of that. But in the 40's, Americans and Russians weren't exactly on the same page. The word "Hipsters" to describe what the Stilyagi were in Russia I think downplays it to a Western audience, who know that word in our own context. To be one of these rebellious youths was pretty dangerous, as…
I think "Hipsters" is actually more a contemporary reference than something the Russians themselves would recognise. We've actually seen some clips of this is my Russian language class, and I believe the literal translation is something like "Boogey Bones", which is reference to how they would smuggle the music into…
NO SKYCEST
True story, I saw him perform live once when he was touring some of thes songs, just after City Route 85 came out. It was a great show, but the best story he told was about how "The Last And" was written for the relationship between Mrs. Krabappel and Principal Skinner. He said he changed a few details, but it's based…

Once upon a time, I knew a girl who would physically cringe at the word "panties". It was hilarious to drop it into conversation, just to see her react. I was a shithead in high school.
One of Breaking Bad's defining moments to me will always be when Walt is walking out of the hardware store, and sees the two other drug dealers in the parking lot. DLZ by TV on the Radio is playing, and the whole scene is just brilliant.
This one wasn't big enough to make it to the drive-in theatre in the town I grew up in, but I did have the distinction of being the only one of my friends to unabashedly love it. I re-watched it about a year ago, and that position still hasn't changed. It was terrifying, and exciting to watch all at the same time.
I know he discusses it with Patton Oswalt, Sean Cullen and Jon Dore from an episode a couple weeks back, but I don't know if he also talked about it on an earlier one.
Great story, Hansel!

They were still working the bugs out for Chris Farley and John Candy.
@trekinosis: You're right, that was the first episode featuring the Trill, and the final host shown was female. It went from guy that Beverly was in love with, to Riker, to the female at the End. Beverly does bow out at the end, and it was just a weird episode all around. The B story reminded me a lot of the Frank…
Ringo Star replaced him once, he can do it again.
Speaking of bizarre Canadian shows, did a program called The Odyssey ever air in the States? It's about this kid who falls into a coma, and wakes up inside his head, which is this weird post-apocalyptic world where kids rule everything. It's featured a very young Ryan Reynolds, I believe, and was pretty out-there, as…
