PLEASE tell me the Vatican reviewer compared the Bible to Harry Potter & Lord of the Rings. I have zero doubt that if J.K. Rowling or J.R.R. Tolkien existed 2000 years ago, there would be a Vatican worshipping the characters in those books too.

But never done properly, weirdly enough. The closest (IMO) with build, look, & akin to the books (i.e., Tarzan isn't an imbecile) was Herman Brix in the 30's, or Mike Henry, & Henry hated playing the role so much he bailed on a potential TV series & sued the producers (after making 3 films), while Brix I think called

I just love that Apple named Rogan's pod one of the best 3 comedy podcasts last year, yet it doesn't even exist over here, no matter how many times it's in the overall top 10 in the rankings. Probably because it's not just a comedy podcast (as the astronaut Chris Hadfield, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, & Maynard James Keenan

& who'd induct them? Probably Maynard Keenan. But the RRHOF would have to get off David Geffen's jock (hey yo!) to have this happen. Rush only got in because 1)their fans were so vociferous 2)all the "cool kids" of the 90's rock revival have finally publicly come out & said how much they love Rush (why I think Kiss

yes, thats correct (imo). then again, the Replacements over the Smiths starts to show they're America first.

because there's a lot of bands theyre just skipping right now. And Hall an Oates aren't getting in, at least not this year.

Sadly, no. The fan vote is essentially top 5 vote getters get on a ballot…& then that ballot is but one out of 600.

Did you see 1)the fan reception to Rush getting in AT the ceremony? 2)the reception from all kinds of respected artists at the same ceremony, as well as in the Rush doc? & Weird Al is the same as that?

COULD be wrong, but I think Yes have a real chance this year, & yes (um), Genesis & Rush being in I think really helped. My only question is where is King Crimson? Basically invented the genre all these bands played.

Huey Lewis & the News were super popular around the same era…do they go in too?
I think H & O are probably getting in eventually, but with the "5 inductee limit", I think you have to look at this year's list, & IMO H & O end up 7th? 9th? Dunno. Just not top 5.

Donna Summer went in last year. Yes, over a nominated Deep Purple.

Or my god, George Harrison's esteemed solo career (am I missing out?)

Yeah, in the age of no real radio stations of note anymore, this notion that "HEY! You're using our song!" thing seems the opposite of smart. ANY exposure for music should be seen as a blessing now.

John Carter is a character nobody in the mainstream cared or even knew about…stop comparing that to freakin' Tarzan.

it's "profits". "Profits", goddamn it!  ;oP

Fair question, but basically the top podcasts get shows now (Maron, Nerdist, CBB), so Rogan got another show…however, AV Club readers wouldn't know Rogan has a top-10 podcast, because Podmass pretends it doesn't exist…

Because his mind is unafraid & capable of going into the deepest, darkest, weirdest trips imaginable, & often he comes up with brilliant little theories because of that…he's one of the kings of "what if", although his best talks are with (persona non grata on this site) Joe Rogan…

errr…2112 spoilers ahead—-

Whoa, no offense…hearing you describe Rush, it honestly sounds you haven't heard a whole lot (yes, I know you're grateful)…but to lump them with Kansas is beyond the pale, sir!  ;o)

"The Forest"? THAT'S THE CURE  ;o) (or "A Forest", I guess). I think you're thinking of "The Trees", & funny enough, it downshifts after about a minute, goes into a bit of a groove, spaces out, & then builds back up into kinda a fun frenzy. As an "alternative music" kid, I hesitated getting into Rush at 1st, but I
