I think it's obvious that the sketch is way more accurate than those ladies are willing to admit.

Oh, OK. You're just kind of an idiot, I get it.

Pretty sure. I don't know what else it could be referencing.

So, I think it's clear that the AV Club MVP of 2012 has been O'Neal. The dude is on fire.

I think that the writer with the widest range of tastes here is probably Heller, but even with someone like him on staff the year-end list is still gonna be pretty homogenous. And you're right, the music writers here are very talented and insightful, but they also have pretty well established tastes that tend to skew

I actually liked it more than All Eternals Deck, even though that record is indeed great. I think Christgau summed it up best when he said these are some of the best, hardest hitting songs Darnielle has ever written, and Wurster's drumming is particularly great.

Yeah, if you wanna see classical/jazz stuff on a year end list, there are probably plenty of blogs and publications you can go that actually specialize in those things.

I haven't listened to it,but I think that no matter how good it is, you won't be seeing it on any major year end lists this year due to the whole "Amanda Palmer crowd sourced literally $1,000,000 but then paid amateur pick-up musicians in beer and hugs before caving to people calling her on her shit" thing.

I feel like one of the few people on the planet who was in no way in to Channel Orange. I liked Nostalgia/Ultra just fine, but this record felt so unformed and meandering. Had to force myself to get through the whole thing.
