yeah Where The Wild Things Are is really captivating until "let the wild rumpus begin," then there's a lot of bickering w/o much in terms of stakes. Some great visual moments and a bit of nice dark humor, but no momentum. Felt longer than 1.5 hrs bc it was so slow and shorter bc so little happened.
Shotgun Stories = Best movie of 2008. Also people need to stop comparing it to David Gordon Green movies constantly, in part because the aesthetic is different (bleaker, more tension in every scene) and also cuz it's better than every DGG movie.

8 1/2 is the story of a handsome man overwhelmed by the amount of really awesome poon he's getting, it's got some ugly extras but be real there's no shortage of beautiful people in it.

Nabin you ever seen Cameron Giles' masterful directorial debut? Just asking cuz Cam released it during their feud and fiddy clowned him for it, now it looks like he's sorta ripping it off? At any rate it sounds like a decent point of comparison for this film.
