BOOK 6 SPOILERS
Dany thinks about roasting them alive, but wonders if she can join their khalasar to hers. She falls in love with a bloodrider and sneaks of with him at night. They spend the whole book marching back to Meereen to find the remnants of her people.

@avclub-b5847c565f0308380cbbc6453b4c438c:disqus But if they kept book 3 in one season they could have THREE weddings in a season! I'm just not going to get my way on this, but I'd rather see a 12-13 episode season 3 than a two-season book 3. I don't feel like giving GRRM extra time to write the last two books.

Okay, I can't argue with that. I was on the fence about Tyrion as a Targaryen in the first place, but that pretty much seals it for me. I just didn't pay that much attention to the exact timing of everything I guess.

arrrghh, I would hate for the 3rd book to be split into two seasons. Seems like the pacing would slow down to a trod.

SPOILERS

@avclub-c98389ee0e2ffdf95aee68056eca9a37:disqus  that's what I thought too. I thought maybe @avclub-9ff7c9eb9d37f434db778f59178012da:disqus  was just joking about it, but the rest of the stuff he said is pretty much true (at least as I see it).

The spoilers are generally well-marked, but sometimes threads will spawn from a "SPOILER"-marked post, and the following posts will continue with spoilers but don't use the warning.

Agreed. Joffrey was goading her about all those bastards just before the child-killing scene.

I wish we'd had more Davos chapters devoted just to learning how to read. That would be great.

That makes sense. I mean, it's obviously not Stannis. I'd have to go back and reread because I feel like I'm pretty horrible at retaining everything, but I remember Azor Ahai was supposed to be reborn in flames or something, right? That would describe Dany, but

Wait, I thought Dany was Azor Ahai

How much did they increase the budget? Not that it would mean anything to me.

Do fan theories count as spoilers?

How is Tyrion the only legitimate child? I haven't heard that one before.

Although someone mentioned in another thread months ago that the Red Wedding was shown to Daenerys in the House of the Undying. I never caught that, but if it's true I'd be interested to see if they use that in the show.

no

@avclub-68c81a145181a6b3092221895a3fd1a9:disqus  That would make sense, since book 3 is the longest IIRC. I just wonder how they would work that out with the timeline of the rest of the show.

Yeah, I totally bought it when I read it, even though I obviously shouldn't have looking back on it. Martin heavily hints that Theon can't find them and has to fake it at the end of his chapter, and then we only hear about the deaths second-hand.

I'm wondering how they're going to do that and stay in budget.
