I'm on season 2 of Voyager (trying to make my way through it - some of it is pretty snoozeworthy), and I'm kind of surprised all those arguments about the Doctor's sentience come up in the later seasons. From the first couple episodes, I just kind of gathered he was sentient and figured most of the Voyager crew

"I don't find torture to be particularly morally ambiguous, a wrong action that might result in good outcomes—it's just evil. There are fairly effective methods of getting intelligence out of prisoners that a) aren't evil, and b) are more reliable and less likely to result in bad information."

@Inglefinger: yeah, I actually am only now going through BSG and the Pegasus episodes were pretty recent for me. It's the only thing I've seen recently that I can remember putting me literally on the edge of my seat. I was sweating bullets about the time the mission ended and everyone got on the phones.

What are you doing? Do not put peanut butter on that. No! Peanut butter outside, chocolate inside…butter inside, cheese outside!

Also. Failed fifty-firsties?

If you remove all the trolling parts, HTH is kind of right. I consider myself too liberal to vote democrat in many instances, and I feel like, at least nationally, the Democratic party has just has just as much to gain from this kind of bullshit as the GOP, and they're certainly not shy about corporate financing.

Uncle Tom gets a bad rap.

For some reason I keep forgetting about Gambit. It seems to get a lot of hate here, but I remember liking it fairly well. I wonder if my memory is just forgiving, though.

Yeah, sucks about the padding but I definitely think it was necessary to cut it into two parts. I think it gives Picard's torture in the second episode a lot more emotional resonance because it gives that part room to be the main focus instead of just one of many parts. Still, I wonder if they could have tried better

But it's the only one of that list that has a better second part.

Chappelle's Show was great, but I kind of wonder what is meant by "hit-or-miss" in reference to Mr. Show. No, not every sketch worked, but I thought every single episode (as far as I remember) averaged out to at least very good. And it had consistently the best transitions of any sketch show ever.

Oh, I loved UCB as well, and I like Whitest Kids U' Know quite a bit, though it's hit or miss (and the Civil War on Drugs isn't very funny).

I saw the first season of The League on Netflix and I thought it was overall pretty funny (including Kroll). Certainly not something I'm going to remember in 10 years as a great show, but fairly good nonetheless.

Wait, I was under the impression you DID act like that all the time

Mr. Show was the best

Nothing to do about not showing when they're listed I guess, but Tivo at least gives an option to record a number of minutes before/after the program is scheduled to begin and end.

Well, it obviously hasn't stopped me from watching. And I think that, say "The War Games" obviously deserves to be more than 4 episodes long, but I just thought 10 was a little much, particularly given that there wasn't much the 2nd episode did that didn't already happen in the first. Some Tom Baker 6 parters, like

Really, the whole thing with his son kind of ruined it for me. The rest of it wasn't bad.

I'm sure it will end. Right after next year's "Green Lantern" reboot.

Wow. I was really sad the series ended prematurely, but if those ideas are true, maybe it's for the best.
