And now I'm speaking a bit more generally, because it's honestly been a little while since I've seen Robot (I haven't been watching Classic Who for more too long, but it was the very first one I saw).

I think there are a number of serials that deserve to fill out 4-6 episodes, but I'd say more often than not it's not the case. I don't mind a slower pace, per se, but I feel like I've seen a number of serials in which particularly the second episode doesn't do much besides reiterate what happened in the first.
I feel like I've actually seen multiple people claiming Ark In Space is the 4th Doctor's best serial, which confuses me. It's good, don't get me wrong, but it's not even the best in the season.
Padding
"It seems to come out of nowhere and only serves to prolong the story past its natural ending point somewhere in the third episode."
Does it even matter whether they're well-behaved if you're taking them to see something like Cars 2? Isn't the entire theater going to be full of screaming kids?
This thread is just absolutely terrible. It's really disappointing. At some point, someone bemoaned that it was turning into 4chan, and then the rest of the thread got even worse. Hey, guess what? Some people have kids and some people don't. Big fucking deal.
Yes, I could definitely see Rory as the good man she kills. It definitely seemed like it would be the Doctor, but they've kind of been going for the whole "confusing Rory for the Doctor when talking about them" thing quite a bit.
Yep
oh yeah, there I was saying I didn't like SportsShow that much, but the segments with his nephew were pretty fantastic.
If you're spending practically nothing on your shows (as I imagine is the case with Fresh Prince reruns), you probably don't have to bring in fantastic numbers.
I'm still waiting for season 3 of UCB to come out on DVD. WHERE IS IT
Yeah, my thought is "sports are not funny" basically means "I am not personally interested in sports."
Are you trying to use Sarah Silverman as an example of something that wasn't cancelled?
I don't get this whole "sports are not funny" claim
Just about any subject is ripe for comedy, and sports are no exception.

Cookie Monster is better because he actually has interesting things to say, but just doesn't use articles and always uses the first-person "me."
I think CC has a contractual obligation to keep providing Tosh with cancelled shows to spout off on his program
I thought Sports Show was alright, but I wasn't interested enough to keep up to date with it. I wish they had kept SportsDome, though most of the funniest sports news I see seems to just be on the website itself.
Yeah, I actually forgot about A Bugs Life. But because I obviously can't remember it, I feel it would be kind of unfair to pan it right now. Cars was the weakest that I actually remember well, but it was still better than most kids' movies.
@pops Freshenmeyer: Well… yeah, pretty much.
I want it on the review pages as well.
