That Vicki Lawrence (Momma of 'Momma's Family' fame) sang it is the really weird thing.  I can only think that it was part of the CB & trucker infatuation of the mid to late 70's that led to its popularity.  I had no idea a movie was made.  Yikes.

Was the pie made with sweet cherries or was the cherry pie sweet? There's a difference - sour cherries are usually used to make cherry pie, but you can use sweet cherries. I suppose the use of sweet cherries would be a more alternative sort of thing.
