If We Wait is a freaking stone cold classic. And Cocksoldiers and their Postwar Stubble may be my favorite GBV song name.

You're far from alone. I'm not even sure I'll have the interest to pick up the next one.

I think it's the catchiness that irritates me. It is so catchy that I get riled up.

Am I alone in hating that song? Probably.

This gimmick account is not doing it for me at all.

I think it's pretty clear from the article itself that "soul" was a safe repackaging of R&B for a white audience. So we take a genre that already has a name but that white people won't buy because of fear and give it a shiny new moniker to label it as safe for white consumption. That seems like reason enough to reject

As a piece of writing, I preferred, "resembles Andrew Bird’s mincing indie pop".

Sorry, the Afghan Whigs already did the definitive cover of "Come See About Me" on Uptown Avondale. Go ahead and replace that one.

Dead on.

It only makes sense when it's Guided by Voices.

I used to watch a lot of anime, but aside from a few movies, I don't really think you're missing much. 90% of it is just adolescent male wish fulfillment fantasy. I went back and watched Cowboy Bebop again, and it was thoroughly okay, but that's all.

Yup, it's not the worst thing ever, but it's just not for me.

I strongly dislike each of the five versions, although the Tom Waits original is clearly the best one.

When we have a family kerfuffle, we just listen to the Super Bowl Shuffle!

I have a son, Willie Gault Analog, and a daughter, Refrigerator Analog.

My children are only allowed to listen to the Super Bowl Shuffle.

I am not at all in the target demographic for FNL. Small towns, football, parents with conservative values, none of this should really work for me. Of course it does. It's a fantastic show. Top two TV marriages: the Taylors in FNL and the Brocks in Picket Fences.

I love Friday Night Lights, and it cracks me up how often both of the Taylors are completely wrong about things or overreact drastically and then apologize. I always hoped that Eric would realize that Tami is a little sharper than him and would always catch him when he lied.

Especially when it comes to cycling. Before an American won anything, Americans collectively yawned at the sport. I'm happily looking forward to the return of those days. And never needing to hear the word "peloton" again.

And Richard Kelly showed rare restraint in wisely keeping Bai Ling from talking!
