Oddly enough I agree with someone whose handle is @jizzlober and who is unregistered.

@Tom Waits, I'm sorry. Did you write that O'Reilly has said some sensible;e things? Could you explain what you mean before I hate you? I don't want to hate you…

I'm slightly more concerned about the out of hand dismissal he gives Obama "this black guy".

@elemenope - I have the same complaint. I signed up for the Rose City Rollers boot-camp and now I feel like there's going to be a ton more competition than there would have been without this movie.

@Smack - wow, look! A dude telling women how to be empowered. Or saying essentially: "Empowerment: You're doing it wrong". And yet the irony police have not beaten him to death yet. Ugh.

She's actually playing a pharmaceutical salesperson, which is what she would probably be doing in real life if people didn't think she was so cute. I think she looks like beige - but I'm a chick so…whatever.

Nabin, I totally remember Alba asking you if you were on crack. I remember thinking that that's exactly the kind of thing all the stupid White Hats and their crappy puerile girlfriends would say to like art freaks or funny/interesting people when they (the art freaks/interesting/funny people) would say something that

MY GOD! Can we STOP with saying that EVERYTHING someone doesn't like is due to FUCKING hipster backlash?!? Can't someone just NOT LIKE something?

Oh! I'm super into French hip-hop right now too. It's totally incongruous, it's hypnotic.

@Right Wingnut, I had a friend tell me that I HAD to rent Last Holiday. That it was so bad that it was HILARIOUS and I had to RUN RIGHT OUT and get it and watch it. And I did.

@Rock that uke - Hawk was in Soencer (and he's in all the novels) but he doesn't have a first name. And yes, Spencer is the best Boston PI around.

Sorry Domino. I'm giving the win to @Fish Paste. I laughed out loud.

I just recently saw a photo of Jen Anniston where - and I am not exaggerating - she looked like a man. She looked like a man in a wig and pink lipstick. She's not aging well - she's luck she has that hair.

This is a weird question but do I know you @Thatches? Are you Jacob?

Yeah, the take-down of Tracy Austin's memoir was pretty badass too.

I love rock bands where a man and a woman sing together (i.e. Rainer Maria or some of JeJune).

Brief Interviews
I'm not sure if the review was saying this, but I'm not sure that Brief Interviews was about why male/female relationships are doomed to fail. I love DFW's non-fiction more than his fiction but Brief Interviews is definitely the best of his fiction - maybe the short stories format is what helps it

Thank you!
This is a great interview. TMB might be my favorite show in the history of ever.
I'm not even going to read any of the other comments today because I think I'll get unduly angry with the inevitable comments about how TMB is for hipster d-bags or whatever.

I'm interested in this movie only because it's a true story that I first heard about on This American Life. It's a really good episode, available in their archives, if you haven't heard it. The title is "The Fix Is In". You can hear the informant's wacky stream-of-consciousness jabber on the show. Pretty interesting.

My favorite part of CHW. The original JLo is looking for the nerdy guy that wrote her the note and she stops to ask the burn outs what he looks like and they tell her that he is tall with hair and he wears t-shirts…sometimes.
