Walt cares about Jesse..he's more hardened and soulless than ever now, but that doesn't mean some affection (or sense of responsibility, at least) isn't there.
I'm thinking it will be something to wound Walt's ego, but would Walt be dumb enough to fall for that when he's "retired?"
What made you think Walt was definitely going to kill Jesse? The scary looking bald dude was a red herring, after all. Seemed to me Walt really wanted to talk Jesse down, no matter what Skyler might have been implying.
I would have laughed my ass off if Walt called Badger Skunk by mistake.
Ha — Walt's story did have some Rube Goldberg about it. Simple stories are always better if you're gonna lie.
I always thought Walt cared about Jesse, even in his manipulation. Sure, using the vacuum guy was an easy way to get Jesse away (and the idea was delivered with Walt's usual bullshit paternal tone) but it really was for Jesse's own good.
Although this did not feel like a superlative episode - Hank barging in when Jesse's about to burn the house down felt a little rote -the twist of Hank's crass manipulation of Jesse saved the soup. I still think Walt and Jesse will have one last moment of connection before it's all over. It can't end with this much…
Biggest laugh of the episode for me.
Carlito's Way was one of my go-to movies in college..as for Scarface, I rather oddly bonded with my father over that flick, and neither of us are felons! I understand that dislike for it, but i love it for all its flaws. It really is well crafted and has some fantastic scenes that have always stuck with me.
I love Scarface from POV of its over-the-topness and some really amazing shots (the chainsaw scene, floating the camera back to Manuel in the car back up to the horror taking place in the bathroom). It's operatic, only one actual Cuban cast in the whole film (Bauer), the ending is comically violent, but for whatever…
The show went off the rails for me around the Jacob/Man in Black seasons. Too metaphysical, too abstract, I can't stand that kind of stuff. I just remember the pilot when Charlie says, "Guys, where are we?" and the incredibly interesting mystery that question hinted at. Ultimately, there was no payoff to that…
I swear I saw the design of Miley's onesie in a mural at Denver Intl Airport, aka Illuminati HQ.
Got it in one..O'Neal thinks he's all cool and "gets it," but most people hated the performance because it sucked and because the gimmick is so phony.
No puritanical hand-wringing here, O'Neal. I'm more befuddled by the aggressive awfulness of the performance and the fact that people may consider it 'rebellious.'
Maybe wearing his headphones?
Belize is still on the table, I'm sure, as Hank is not going to quit.
Haven't seen 'Things To Do' an ages, and it's probably the nadir of the QT clones..it's almost a parody of QT's work at the time..But the movie does have a certain low-rent charm and I love the cast. So random..Andy Garcia, Christopher Lloyd, Treat Williams, Fariuza Balk.
Next week: AMC airs an entirely new episode of Breaking Bad halfway through Low Winter Sun.
He wasn't exactly being "nice" and Jesse called Walt on his manipulative bullshit. Sure it's for Jesse's own good, but there was nothing genuine about Walt's fatherly concern. Jesse has nothing and nobody, and was exhausted by Walt's transparently self-serving BS.
