That's a good point about it being described as a comedy. I guess that's part of the tricky space that Terriers occupied, but the comedy really only comes from the characters cracking jokes and not from the situations they are in. It's definitely a drama that has a few characters who are occasionally funny.

"for a sure" should be "for a show"

@The Ever Present Football Player Rapist

I agree with the guy that, even with a decent marketing campaign, Terriers probably never would have been a huge hit. But what makes it hurt is that if the advertising weren't so inept it might have just barely squeaked into a second season. No point in speculating about it now.

I didn't fail AT firsties, I asked a question and inadvertently included the word "one" in it because that was part of my question, not stopping to think what all of the implications of using the word "one" might be on an internet full of idiots.

Thanks Todd and other helpful people.

Can I jump in here?
Is this a show that I should watch from season one, or can I appreciate it if I start here?

I didn't take it to mean that alcohol was bad so much as that, just because you've hit some of the supposed landmarks of adulthood, that doesn't mean you're not still a child. Or something.

strange
This episode was more "normal" than others in many ways, but somehow it really brought home that this is one of the strangest shows on television right now. . .

The above is right: There is no slot for Ames because Guerrero already does everything that she does better. The same is true for Pucci: Winston already fulfills the role of a worrier who's not quite sure about all this crazy shit that's happening, but he does it without being infuriatingly obnoxious. He doesn't have

ONN is not really much like the Daily Show. They both make fun of the news but the Daily show usually satirizes things that are actually in the news, while ONN is usually fake news.

Yeah, although the sound the computer made after they entered the password made it seem intersect-like - as if it were doing something rather than just displaying information. In any case, although the password made it clear it was intended for Ellie, I still expect it to somehow end up being the magical cure for

Yeah, they never show a realistic duration of choking in the movies or television. I forgive them for that because who would want to watch someone looking at their watch for a few minutes after their victim stopped struggling, wondering if they were dead yet?

but if you've ever had anal sex with a man . . .

Big Night is great. I'm also a fan of the closing scene.

Having now seen the finale, it was actually pretty good. Still disagree on the assessment of the season overall, however. Maybe I found the series irredeemable at this point but the work this season did to set up the finale could have been done in a couple of episodes, which still leaves most of them as a waste of

It's interesting to what extremes this season is dividing people's opinions. I think it has been god-awful, personally. I guess I can see faint glimmers of the improvements written about here but they have been buried in such stupid "comedic" situations and characterizations. The problem is that I don't believe in the

I'm pretty sure if this show were about a Democratic politician with a ridiculous folksy persona going about nature showing how regular they are and how much they just love america, darn it, that no one here would be singing its praises either. That Sarah Palin seems like such on awful person in the rest of her public

I think it's because they usually seem like very minor variations of the same character and the same funny voice and because they are not rooted at all in actual human behaviour.

How is the Mad-Men Esque?
Sounds like an interesting show, but "three journalists in a love triangle and involved in a murder mystery," sounds pretty distant from a mad men plot. I assume they must be basing the comparison entirely on it's "retro-cool" setting, but they seem to be relying on that angle pretty
