Am I the only R.E.M. fan who wasn't that impressed with Hi-Fi? Half of that album is some of their best work ("Leave", "Binky the Doormat") and the other half sounds like stuff they cranked out in their sleep ("Bittersweet Me", "Be Mine.")

"Those hairdos are tall as hell…"
"Ode to Billie Joe" is freaking amazing. It's a great mood piece and Bobbie Gentry sells the hell out of it.
Not a huge fan of "Night The Lights Went Out…", but it's crazy to think that there was a time when something like that could be a No. 1 hit on the pop charts. These kids today with their Hot Topic clothes and their twerking…
