Exactly. The East felt completely watered down and focus-grouped to death. If that's what happens in "the big time", I'd prefer she stay indie.

This is likely blasphemy, but I've never been a massive Scorsese fan. If I had to pick my favorite film of his, I'd honestly choose either Wolf of Wall Street or The King of Comedy.

This. If we only watched movies about nice people, this list would have been a lot shorter.

    Don't (b) so cynical.

Oh, and definitely The World's End. Don't feel like rehashing the reasons again, but yeah.

Another Earth really deserved to be on there, dammit.

I liked Scott Pilgrim and Frances Ha, but nowhere near as much as this list did.

Gravity. Technically, it's amazing, but the story really doesn't hold up to repeated viewings. I saw it twice and that was one time too many.

Your purple prose just gives you…

Hey, I just corrected myself. It's been a while since I've actually sat down and watched it.

    I stand corrected.

It been a while since I've watched it, but yeah. That's what I was thinking about. He definitely gives off an air of "we're above these peons" at times and there's also the "big bad government is stopping us from being great" sentiment as well. Not the driving force of the movie (notice I said "sort of"), but it's

    No, it was Mr. Incredible.

I was thinking more along the lines of Mr. Incredible's "if everybody is special, then no one is" speech.

I've never been the type to perv over cartoons, but in this case I'd have make an exception. Day-um.

I'd be thrilled if this turns out great and I'm still a fan of the first one, but let's admit it: the people who accuse it of being an Ayn Rand fantasy sort of have a point…

Excellent call on Another Earth. If I were to draw up a list, it'd be in my top ten for sure.

Pynchon is just one of those people who is never going to click with me. I've come to accept that.

So is this one of those movies where good and honest red staters (bull riders) come out ahead of those Godless and Obama-loving New Yorkers (whoever "loves art")?

Kudos on the costume, at the very least. It looks like something someone in that situation would actually wear.
