I was lucky enough to see them almost by accident when the toured behind "United by Fate".  We went to see the opening band Thursday, (who my gf at the time was into) at this small club in Jacksonville.  Their performance was pretty shaky, but I saw them a few years later after having lost interest and they sounded

The $75k in multicolored Canadian bills she withdrew from the bank were probably the biggest clue that the show wasn't filmed in NY.

Like "waiting until after graduation" to be turned into a vampire?

Does he make it through a session without punching anybody in the face?

At times The National sounds to me like either Depeche Mode trying to play like Bruce Springsteen or Bruce Springsteen trying to sound like Depeche Mode.  Not a bad thing in either case…

I think he came off fine also.  I just assumed he was being kind of tongue-in-cheek when he made the comment about sneezing hits (I mean who really says that?) and was overall pretty self-aware in his douchiness.

That kind of stings, Flag On The Moon.

I recall something about Devo and Neil Young hanging out and and working on some coke-fueled collaborations quite a bit in the We Are Devo book.  I think at Young's Malibu beach house or something?

I've heard about Neil Young's left-turn electronic album, but haven't sat through it yet.  Item 51 for the agenda….

How could a comment so right, go so wrong?

I agree with you KJB and maybe I'm being facile here, but I do enjoy looking at naked women.  When I see a naked woman, I don't become outraged, but happy. And not always in a purely sexual way.  So quit trying to take this away from me you haters.  Find another show to watch.

Legs crossed "English style", peering furtively at one another over their copies of Interior Design?

That early U2 guitar sounds A LOT like Keith Levine. That aside, they definitely cultivated a unique sounding total package.

It's a mistake

Yeah, and he listened to nothing but Bob Marley Legend and that damned Rusted Root album.

Great one-two punch there, although I'd have to rate Fabricoh and Nostalgia off of Vee Vee as my favorite AoL one-two.  These guys were the band I followed all through college (and to this day).  Kurt Cobain killed himself when I was a freshman living in the dorms at Univ of Fl.  This sounds silly now, but a good
