What the fuck are you talking about?

good one.

You got me there.

Oh absolutely not.

Yeah I didn't say that nor did I imply anything even remotely similar so I don't know what your point is.

And this is a comment section. I'm not trying to convince you of anything, nor am I writing an academic paper.
Good luck on your quest to make chrissie hynde accountable for daring to discuss her own rape on her terms instead of defaulting to a message that you personally would have preferred more.

Cite examples of what? What are you even talking about?

As far as I can see literally no one here has objected to educating men about rape.
The argument seems to be about the contention that telling women to take safety precautions amounts to victim blaming.

She was talking about her own experience. People are allowed to rationalize things to themselves and shouldn't have a bunch of people jumping down their throats about "sending the wrong message" as if chrissie hynde intention was to victim blame or shame women.

Meh…

Yeah accuse him of hiding insidious beliefs behinds his arguments because he doesn't buy into ridiculous faux-utopian arguments about how if we just teach all the men THEN things will be fixed. Sorry. Some people live in the real world.
That doesn't mean that they think women should be "slutting around less". What the

Agreed. Both are overly broad statements. It's quite obvious to me that no reasonable person would interpret my statement to mean "literally every single time".
Chrissie Hynde can't even talk about her own rape for fuck sake without a bunch of people criticizing her for victim blaming herself.

Congrats on continuing to reject history and reality.
But no…you're right. Nobody has ever gone over the top with PC rhetoric. Everyone who has ever blogged about the numerous microagressions committed against them daily is entirely in the right.
It must be nice when there is no middle ground, nuance is not a thing

"Rape culture is found in how *we've* implicitly so given up on policing
rapists' behavior that *we'll* make rape prevention all about advice for
the statistically least likely scenario."

Yeah and that's a hell of a lot different than talking about what "we" as a society tell women (who are of course a monolithic collective). I'm using that language because that's the language that you're using. I'm mocking it. I haven't even made any claims of my own, just tried to rebuff yours.

I mean that's totally fair. My experience is different.

Oh totally.

And you're someone who has nothing of legitimacy to say. You're in a ideologue tribe and just looking to protect your people.

No. Absolutely not. Anyone who would assume membership in some fucking group of losers because someone disagrees with them on some minor issue is foolish. Just because i'm not an ideologue doesn't mean I'm on the polar opposite side of the spectrum.

We can't have a conversation as a society because that's not how the concept of a conversation works. On it's face it means nothing and refers to nothing.
