I'm not a fan of Euro games generally, but when someone says they're tired of Dominion, the answer is for them to play Ascension. It has the same deck-building mechanic, but instead of having a static group of cards to acquire that are essentially unchanging throughout the game, Ascension has a layout of six cards.

It is hard to criticize this reviewer because she has been the subject of so much ugly criticism in the past, but yes, she seems to jump at shadows quite a bit and, as I said in my other post, quite frequently she mistakes the status quo a work depicts in order to challenge it as what the work is advocating.
