FRINGE was still going strong after a ten-season run, and hamburgers eat people!

It's always weird to me when I see a non-edited version of Rod Serling's previews for next week's episode. At some point, he suddenly stops talking about the next episode and really, really wants you to buy Lucky Strikes cigarettes. It's surreal. Not quite as weird as when they do it on the Flintstones, but close.

Zack is right: that closing narration is pretty half-assed. "You pays your money and you takes your chances." Hilarious.

I enjoyed The Parallel. It had a suitably paranoid tension about it. It might've been better if it had been half as long, though.

Sweet! Thanks!

man, how do you make those musical notes?

Or John Noble

Bryan Cranston or GTFO.

Yeah, on balance Paul wrote more of the best Beatles songs than John did.

Tell Them to cut it out!

Do you write for Slate?

@avclub-6f097e848d3e349ddf8763d4aaa943df:disqus Be excited, friend. Apparently this movie is based on a graphic novel by Frank Miller in which Superman has become a tool of the U. S. government and Batman has to stop him. (I'm guessing this is why "Man of Steel" confused and disturbed so many critics).

Yeah, the movie is only fitfully brilliant. But it has one of the all-time great opening sequences. And the scene where James Mason first sees Lolita is iconic.

Yeah, just yesterday I was listening to "I Fought in a War" and thinking, "This is one of the all-time great album openings." Right up there with "Stars of Track and Field" on "If You're Feeling Sinister." It hints at possibilities which the subsequent album only delivered on fitfully.

I've often wondered why George Lucas modeled the final scene of "Star Wars" after that movie.

I do love Eowyn's fight with the Witch King. That dude is scary.

Yep. It made both lists on CNN's "Best and Worst Movie Battle Scenes":

Also, he says one of his best friends is gay!

If we're going that route, I'll pretend that Seasons 2 & 3 of LOST were one awesome season with no filler episodes.

And the Star Wars prequels!
