The idea of Ian MacKaye screaming in Beverly Sills's face is somehow appealing.

The first part of the day was mostly spent listening to Jason and the Scorcher's first couple records. The afternoon is shaping up to be a Bettie Serveert kinda day.

I think it's a way better record front to back than GP. Return of the Grievous Angel and In My Hour of Darkness are about as good a set of bookends as an album has.

New Day Rising is a top 10 album of all time for me and that song is the perfect intro. Just a beast of a band flexing its muscles.

I think XO is the better album but the jump Smith made with Son of Sam on Figure 8 really sealed it for me. I liked but didn't love his mostly acoustic stuff but hearing the whole song come together to kick off that album made him a favorite.

When they replaced Rabin with Selma Diamond, that was a tip off.

You're probably right but I can dare to dream. And yeah, we're super greedy having won 5 Super Bowls but still bitching about the 18-1 season. I know, we're pretty much the worst fans around. Well, outside of the five boroughs at least.

I've been kinda up and down with it. Admittedly, I'm not fully caught up yet. That said, I'm very happy that there's an outlet for the type of art Lynch is capable of making. It might not be everyone's cup of tea but I'm very glad it exists.

I'm about halfway through "The Sleepwalkers" by Christopher Clark about the lead-up to WWI. It's pretty fascinating how things managed to get so crazily fucked in Europe. And the descriptions of the Kaiser as a boorish dinner guest who utterly dominated the conversation to the point of other officials desperately

I'll go one further and say up to and including Automatic. I've come around a lot on Out of Time recently. Me In Honey might now be a top 5 REM song for me.

All the games. The Patriots will win all the games.

That header image is something. I think Willie Davis is gonna kick Drysdale's ass just to impress Sister Bertrille.

"Bees????"

"Have you ever heard that when life gives you lemons, you throw them in the face of the person who gave them to you and demand the oranges you asked for in the first place?"

"It's called evil, kid"

Yeah, well how do you explain all those emails from Nathan Bedford Forrest to Hillary???

Fox viewers seem more likely to call you a "libtard" where the younger, edgier righties who get their news from crazy websites will opt for "SJW".

If those kids weren't looking for trouble, then why were they out there…..ya know…..existing?!?

"Pop Pop gets a pardon, Mikey?"
