@thomasrhys:disqus I think it was playing off the stereotype that men (especially dads) keep their thermostats at a lower temp (68 degrees-ish) to save money and don't let people touch them.

Evil Dead (especially 2) Is more of a comedy than horror movie. It's pretty similar to Cabin in the Woods (as others have stated above) without all the meta-commentary.
I really loved that character for reasons unknown.
Wow that couch gag was great! Made me feel like I was watching season 1 or 2 (Must have been something about the tone it hit)
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Glenrothes Scotch-Whisky That His Doctor Won't Let Him Drink Because of His Cirrhosis And Anyway They're All A Bunch Of Con-Artists and Quacks And Can Go Straight To Hell Because It Was a Birthday Present From His Daughter.
…A forlorn Bono gracing the cover.
@avclub-3c23902822283144c09d87f123545c87:disqus I'm a pretty big Harry Potter fan and I know when I'm talking about the "complexities" of Harry Potter I'm mostly analyzing it from the perspective of a kids book. However, I never really say that when I'm talking about it. I might say something like "Harry coming to…
Bangin on a trashcan!
Drumin' on a street light!
Yeah I don't think Brent was actually edited to look bad. I just wanted to include that quote because it was a commentary on documentary format that Guest never brought up (even if Brent is wrong). Looking back on my comment I realize it makes it sound like I'm defending Brent. Brent is undoubtably kind of a shitty…
Maybe to some people it was a life-changing experience? People have different life experience and tastes than you do.
Brent's character alone is suggested to only be so horrible on camera because he's a show-off, not because he acts like that all the time. The UK Office actually adresses how the documentary as a medium can be manipulative and not reflect reality (Brent even accuses the documentarians of editing him into a fool).…

Some things I noticed and loved about this episode:
"Hello, I'm calling about the paragon earrings? They'd look good on your dead body." I completely lost it. Liked this way better than last weeks.
I'm positing the theory that they had no say in the color choices. Something about the way the 99% is overlayed says to me that the editor had skills but wasn't allowed to implement them. I can't imagine anyone who chose these colors and compositions would then have the subtlety to go "Hey I bet this number would look…
The poor people who had to make this video with Al over their shoulder going "I found these pictures on google of a $20,000 bill can we use that?"
1 month until new Parks and Rec.
Homer got drunk all the time. He even drank and drove at least once (and destroyed the elementary school and their precious Pyew-ma in the process)
@avclub-b0dae075785888267fc19871f3e7dab7:disqus Yeah I was too young to pick up the song context but the minor tonality just always unsettled me. Same with the Siamese cat song in "Lady and the Tramp" but that was probably supposed to be unsettling.
"Chim Chim Cheree" always inspired a sense of dread in me as a kid - to the point that I couldn't even handle watching Mary Poppins. Was anyone else affected?
Here comes the comment orgy!
