The first movie was like really long, pretentious episode of Scooby Doo.

I could've done without the frequent chapter-length interruptions that took the focus away from the characters and plot and spent several pages examining stalactites and geodes or whatever the hell it was Lem was talking about.

Ben Steinbauer did a reasonably good job of not marketing himself for most of "Winnebago Man" and instead just focused on his subject. It was his awkward attempts to insert himself into the narrative/create the tiniest amount of drama that detracted from the proceedings, but these moments were pretty fleeting.
