I'm TA-ing a class about post-9/11 horror, and my professor is already saying The Village is a hidden classic. He admits the acting and plotting aren't so great, but get him to talk about the message behind it and he can go on forever.

Homeland's first two episodes this season. Carrie is one of my favorite TV characters, and what she's going through is just brutal shit, even if she brought it on herself. Actually, that's what makes it especially tragic.
